Muriatic Pool Acid Decreases pH and Total Alkalinity in swimming pool water. Also called Hydrochloric Acid, PH Reducer, Fast-Acting Cleaner For Brick & Mortar, Etches Concrete, Widely Used To Balance PH Of Swimming Pool Water.

By carefully adding it, you can reduce high pH levels, preventing water cloudiness, ineffective chlorine, and scale formation. Additionally, its corrosive properties enable it to remove stains, scale, and calcium deposits from pool surfaces and equipment. A common mistake is to add acid to the water thinking it will maintain the pH and kill algae. However, it is vital to test the water before adding it. As it is only used to reduce the pH and alkalinity – it cannot be used as an algaecide.
