A pump seal 75, also known as a mechanical seal, is a system that prevents fluid from leaking between two environments. It’s made up of multiple parts, including a rotating assembly, a stationary part, and a spring:
- Rotating assembly: Rotates with the shaft
- Stationary part: Fixed and cooled by the pumped liquid
- Spring: Keeps the seal compressed and airtight
- Replace your shaft seal to prevent leaks and protect your pool pump, especially important when replacing the pump motor.
